Boys Meet Girl: easter

We had an early, but fun Easter this year. We thought we would let you in on some of our festivities.

Connor scored a whole bunch of eggs and a BIKE from a city Easter egg hunt...who wins a bike when all they are hoping for is some of their favorite candy? Note the expression on Parker's face in the photo. (This city also holds an annual underwater Easter egg hunt. We could not have Easter pass without finding out what that was all about. We observed how it all went down, but did not have time to get in on the fun of this one.)

Our adorable niece Kyla created a life-sized flat version of herself, for a school project, which she sent to us in the mail. Flat Kyla spent the week with us. We recorded, around the edge of her large sheet of paper, what she did with us and where we took her. You will notice her in the photo below.

We were excited to find "Cars" & "Star Wars" egg coloring kits. Among the decor from the Star Wars kits was a miniature head mask of c3po. It had a teeny-tiny elastic fastened to the back just big enough to go around an egg. I think they should have included masks for all of the characters...how cool is that?! I was impressed by the collapsible, plastic Easter egg dye cups that my husband found. My favorite part of Easter egg decorating as a kid was shrinking the plastic picture sleeves around the egg. Luckily we had a handful of these sleeves this year. There is something about shrinking plastic. While on the subject of shrinking plastic, why is it so hard to find "Shrinky Dinks" these days? They are another childhood memory that I want to let my children in on. Please let me know if you know where Shrinky Dinks are sold, other than the Dungeons and Dragons set on eBay that I wanted to buy for my older brother until the auction reached $64.00.
